The Fareham Cardiac Support Group meets in the Village Hall on the first Thursday of the month – from 7.30 pm.

The group was formed in 1988 by the late Dr Hugh Carling MBE, a practising local G.P.

Its purpose is to assist those who have suffered a heart problem to rehabilitate from illness to a more normal state of health by enabling, encouraging and assisting.

The programme encompasses Exercise, Education and Social activities.

Exercise – through a supervised programme at 24/7 Fitness Centre geared to your capabilities (and medically supervised).

Education – a monthly meeting featuring guest speakers, mostly medical, but with the occasional light entertainer or adventurer. The meetings give the opportunity to meet people and share experiences or ask questions in a friendly and mutually supportive environment.

Social Activities – throughout the year there are various events, including guided countryside walks, skittles, Coach Trips and Christmas Lunch.
